- There is NO entry fee to participate for this event or any other FIM e-Power events.

Correction: Second Betti Bike Better Than I Was Told - They Have A Third One For You If You Bring Your Own Batteries

Just to clear up on the Betti bikes. Apparantly what I wrote about them after the Le Mans round is wrong. Thomas has contacted me to put it right, so here goes:

Thomas Betti: The bike is a DC to 96 volts and the maximum speed of 190 kmh have a solo motor batteries lithium iron UN and speed without the battery Sum of 6 kW h for motorbikes and 170 kg.

Me: But there are two Betti bikes. You won on one of them. What happened to the other?

Thomas Betti: The other bike had a problem with the batteries (they went a protection), we have also solved that problem, we hope to Albacete's ready to go!

Me: You've been building electric motorcycles for years, any plans for street legal/production bikes?

Thomas Betti: Betti Motorcycles we have built a dozen in various dimensions and weight in different models, we also have a third Betti motorcycle complete with everything but without batteries, we want to give someone who wants to compete. We also intend to produce for sale, but I think we will do with the new more advanced models, but before selling it to win. Now many want to make the production of motorcycle racing for me is wrong, because in a year there will be bike that will dock faster and will cost the same price. Next is impossible to sell.

PS: Qualifying times from Albacete:

First:
1) Thijs de Ridder 1:54,7min. 9 Laps
2) Thomas Betti 1:56,9min. 9 Laps
3) Rainer Kopp 1:58,3min. 7 Laps
4) Luciano Betti 2:01,3min. 9 Laps
5) Christian Amendt 2:06,4min. 8 Laps

Second:
1) Thijs de Ridder 1:54,1min. 10 Laps
2) Thomas Betti 1:56,2min. 5 Laps
3) Rainer Kopp 1:57,1min. 5 Laps
4) Luciano Betti 2:01,0min. 9 Laps
5) Christian Amendt 2:01,4min. 8 Laps

FIM holds first e-Power race - was it a flop? — Autoblog Green

Media_httpwwwblogcdnc_glxaa

Was I too hard on the FIM? No - I don't think so. Back in the days - last fall - FIM wanted TTXGP to guarantee a minimum of 15 bikes for the planned FIM/TTXGP series.
After deciding to go it alone they dropped their expectations to "we hope to get 10 teams". They got four (well, six, but the Innoscooter wasn't allowed to start at IoM last year, and it won't be able to start any of the FIM races this season and one of the Betti bikes has power for less than half the race distance)
That's a flop. A big one. The FIM would need at least as many bikes and "high profile" teams as TTXGP and TT Zero to come close to not being a flop.

e-cup Le Mans - The real result

The FIM have done a good job of making it look like the first e-cup race actually was worth while. Here's the official story:

FIM e-Power International Championship: Thomas Betti, first winner in the history!

Pole position and victory! Thomas Betti is the winner of the first round of the Championship FIM International E-Power. At 29, this Italian firefighter in Rimini goes into history by his victory of the first international race of electric motorcycles which just finished ahead of the opening of the Le Mans 24 Hours Moto.

On the Betti Moto, built by his father Luciano who also participated in this event, Thomas Betti finished ahead of Reiner Kopp Munch's Racing Team on a Laverda framed electric motorcycle and Christian Amendt Epo-Bike.de the team on a Honda framed motorcycle.

Betti Thomas has completed his best lap in 2'21 but he admitted to have driven in economic mode to manage the available charge during the last laps.

Here's what they forgot to mention:

The race was cut down from 8 to 6 laps because they were worried they'd get an empty podium. The scooter (the one they've "forgotten" to publish pictures of) was too slow, one of the Betti bikes had lead-acid batteries for maximum 3 laps and the other had power for 6 laps. Of the five bikes starting, three finished the race.

Surely the most pathetic race in FIM's history? If the e-cup wasn't destroying what little credibility e-bikes have built the last year or so it would at least be funny. As it is, there's no reason to laugh.

Please FIM, this horse is dead, stop flogging it.

Behind the scenes with e-cup championship favourite Christian Amendt

From what I've seen of his bike, Christian has a good chance of a top
six finish in the e-cup - and who knows, if the Betti-bikes and XXL
have a bad day or two, the now famous German might win the whole
prestigeous championship!

I'm not writing off the last two contestants, but if it's a scooter
and something with hub motors, I'll give Christian the advantage...

Anyways, see the report about Christians bike on German television -
and the exclusive and hot "behind the scenes" pictures here.

TTXGP TecHotel

The 5* chauffeur driven service for your bike and kit

The TTXGP TecHotel is a unique motorsport logistics service for TTXGP teams that reduces the cost and hassle of transporting bikes and equipment between events.  Specialist teams and storage facilities are available to handle, transport and store your bike between races allowing you to focus on what’s important: racing.  For 2010, TecHotel is available for TTXGP UK and TTXGP Italy.

Why does it work?
TecHotel is uniquely suited to TTXGP.  Unlike regular motorsport, duties such as engine rebuilds or engine tuning is not required.  Teams can keep a development bike at base and race bike with TecHotel.  Tuning and refining of the bikes done at base with settings saved to USB and uploaded to the race bike at the trackside.  The race bike then becomes a clone of the development bike.
Hardware changes such as controllers/ motors or circuit boards can be carried in commercial airlines as luggage or in a normal car to the track.

As well as storing the bike, TecHotel will also store support equipment such as helmets, tyre warmers, tools etc etc.
The team benefits from substantial savings in transportation and organisational overhead.  They arrive at the circuit fresh and without the burden of logistics.
Save Money, Save Time, Save Hassle. The team focuses on the racing.

How does it work?
Under the TecHotel package your bike and kit will be stored at our secure facility and safely transported to each event.  This will allow you to arrive at a race meeting and have your bike and equipment unloaded and readied for you to set up your bike and go racing.  After the race, your bike and kit will be packed up and returned to our facility until the next event.
TecHotel provides the perfect solution to all of your storage and logistical needs.

TecHotel will support all bikes irrespective of manufacture.  You will need to ensure that charging protocols are clearly defined and meet our regulations for power supply and safety.

How is my bike stored?
Your bike will be stored at our secure facilities, protected by alarm, CCTV and insured up to its maximum declared value (up to £35,000).  A power supply will be provided for the bike if necessary and an IP connection made available should your control system support it.  You can even subscribe to a live video feed (setup charges apply) so that you can login and check your bike 24/7.

How is my bike transported?
Your bike and kit will be transported to each race, safely held, protected from the elements and fully insured.
We can arrange collection of your bike from your base at the start of the season and delivery back to base at the end of the season.  Extra charges apply for the pickup and collection depending on distance.  We can take custody at Round 1 and release custody at Round 4 at no extra charge.

How do I get TecHotel?
